One of the largest and most advanced EMC and product testing laboratories globally

Plattling, September 18, 2024 – CSA Group, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, is proud to announce the grand opening of a 4,600 square-meter EMC and Automotive testing laboratory at its European headquarters in Plattling, Germany. This expansion significantly enhances CSA Group’s capabilities, positioning the Plattling facility with a total of 16,900 square meters as one of the largest and most advanced EMC and product testing laboratories globally.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by CSA Group’s Executive Leadership Team, including President and CEO David Weinstein as well as representatives from the City of Plattling and the district of Deggendorf underscores the company’s commitment to meeting the increasing demand for comprehensive testing services across Europe and beyond.

The expansion of the laboratory is a strategic response to the rapid advancement of technologies, such as electric vehicles (EVs), which demand new and specialized testing capacities. By expanding its facilities, CSA Group remains at the forefront of providing a wide range of testing solutions to meet these evolving needs.

Key highlights of the new addition include:

  • Cutting Edge Facilities, equipped with anechoic chambers up to 10-meter, shielded rooms, amplifier rooms, anechoic chambers and state-of-the-art testing equipment
  • Enhanced Automotive Testing: The expansion broadens CSA Group’s automotive testing services to include over-the-air (OTA) testing, dynamic EMC, and high-voltage equipment testing for electric vehicles. The facility also offers testing and certification for a range of combustion engines, commercial vehicles, and components.
  • Expanded EMC and Radio Testing: The new facility significantly enhances CSA Group’s EMC testing capabilities, allowing for thorough testing on medical devices, industrial equipment, and consumer products. CSA’s radio testing services benefit from over 30 years of expertise in evaluating wireless technologies, including WiFi, Bluetooth, RFID, and UWB.

Since opening in 2021 CSA Group’s Plattling location has grown its workforce from 160 to more than 270 employees, reflecting strong customer demand and CSA’s dedication to providing superior testing, inspection, and certification services. CSA Group’s expanded capabilities now include testing for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), lighting, hazardous location (HazLoc) equipment, gas appliances, and batteries.
