Overview We are seeking a highly capable and commercially aware technical leader to be based at Element Wimborne in a site-based role, with responsibility for supporting and developing the company’s UK Military and Aerospace EMC department.

This role will focus on strengthening internal capability, improving technical readiness, developing new service offerings, and building trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will act as a key technical resource for the EU Military and Aerospace EMC function, helping to upskill teams, develop new testing methodologies, support complex projects, and identify opportunities for growth. The role will also contribute to marketing, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across the wider UK and global business.

Location

Site-based at Element Wimborne.

Whilst this is a site-based role, occasional travel may be required to other Element locations within the UK and globally, as well as to customer sites, where business needs arise. Travel is not expected to be frequent, but will be undertaken as and when necessary to support technical activities, commercial engagement, collaboration, and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities Department Leadership and Technical Capability

  • Act as a key site-based technical lead supporting the company’s EU Military and Aerospace EMC department.
  • Provide internal training to upskill existing staff and promote best practice across the team.
  • Support and mentor internal technical resources, helping to strengthen EMC knowledge and competence across the business.
  • Assist global company locations with the implementation of best practice and knowledge transfer.
  • Work alongside EMC subject matter experts to help develop a knowledge base and, in time, contribute to building a globally aligned technical knowledge team.

Service Development and Innovation

  • Work with identified customers to develop new testing methodologies and technical solutions.
  • Contribute to business cases for new services that support the company’s growth strategy.
  • Support the development of EU Military and Aerospace EMC capability from the inside out, ensuring strong technical foundations are established before targeting the market.
  • Identify service gaps in the UK market and assess where competitors may be under-serving customers, using customer feedback and market insight to shape future offerings.

Project Readiness and Delivery Support

  • Review project information to ensure larger and more complex projects can commence promptly and efficiently.
  • Support complex test readiness reviews to confirm projects are fully prepared prior to entering the laboratory.
  • Ensure incoming work is thoroughly reviewed and in a suitable state for test, enabling a smooth and efficient process for both the client and the business.
  • Scope and support work at subcontract facilities where required.

Business Growth and Customer Support

  • Work with other UK entities to optimise cross-selling and solution-selling opportunities in key industries.
  • Help customers understand how module-level work ultimately integrates into wider systems and platforms and identify how the business can support that journey more effectively.
  • Listen to customer needs, guide them through technical and compliance challenges, and build trusted long-term relationships.
  • Support the growth of the Military and Aerospace EMC department by building capability first, then aligning services to market needs and customer demand.

Marketing and Industry Engagement

  • Develop marketing materials and webinars to promote compliance and EMC activities.
  • Author and present technical material for EMC-related public events.
  • Support and encourage others within the business who have an interest in presenting or contributing to public technical events.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Strong background in EMC testing, compliance, and technical problem solving, within Military and Aerospace sectors.
  • Proven ability to develop technical solutions, interpret customer requirements, and support complex projects.
  • Experience delivering training, mentoring staff, and promoting technical best practice.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to contribute to service development and growth initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in producing technical content for customers, marketing activities, and public events.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple sites, teams, and regions.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset, with a focus on capability development, customer trust, and long-term growth.

  • Ensure the EU Military and Aerospace EMC department is supported by strong technical leadership across Element Wimborne and Malvern locations and beyond.
  • Internal teams are better trained, more confident, and more consistent in their technical delivery.
  • New EMC methodologies and service offerings are developed in response to customer and market needs.
  • Projects enter the laboratory in a better state of readiness, improving efficiency and customer experience.
  • UK Military and Aerospace EMC capability grows in a structured and credible way, built on strong technical foundations.
  • The business becomes more effective at sharing EMC knowledge, supporting global best practice, and building customer trust.

To be successful in your application for this role you will require:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain UK security clearance (SC level).
  • Availability to work Monday to Thursday: 08:30–17:00, and Friday: 08:30–15:45 (37.5 hours per week).
  • Full UK driving licence.
