Come and join JLR as an EMC Vehicle Compliance Engineer – Validation & Verification and play a key role in shaping how our vehicles meet global electromagnetic standards. This is a hands-on engineering position working across the full vehicle lifecycle, from early concept through to volume production, helping ensure every vehicle meets legislative, corporate and quality expectations.
You’ll take ownership of EMC sign-off for minor vehicle programmes and selected components, working in line with JLR corporate standards. The role brings variety and visibility, with close collaboration across homologation, engineering test facilities and a broad range of component owners, giving you real influence on vehicle-level outcomes.
Alongside compliance delivery, you’ll support the investigation of EMC-related vehicle issues, contributing to root-cause analysis and the development of robust technical solutions. What To Expect In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including –
- Support Lead Vehicle EMC Engineers in defining programme content and identifying the vehicles and variants required to achieve full EMC coverage in line with JLR standards
- Assist with the selection and interpretation of requirements, and contribute to robust test planning to support delivery through key engineering gateways
- Develop clear, structured EMC test plans for use in vehicle chambers, enabling test engineers to carry out all required assessments efficiently and consistently
- Plan and coordinate workshop activities to ensure pilot build vehicles are delivered, prepared, and fit for test on time
- Review, interpret and evaluate EMC test results, highlighting risks, trends and areas requiring further investigation
- Support the investigation and resolution of vehicle-level EMC issues, contributing to root-cause analysis and the development of effective technical solutions
What You’ll Need We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including –
- Previous experience in a comparable Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) engineering role within an engineering or automotive environment
- A solid understanding of EMC theory and design principles, with practical experience applying these in real-world engineering scenarios
- Hands-on experience of vehicle-level EMC testing within the automotive sector
- Good working knowledge of automotive EMC legal requirements and relevant international standards
- Understanding of high-voltage (HV) vehicle systems and associated components
- Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent, proven industry experience
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Full valid driving licence
