Role Description This is a full-time on-site role, based in Liverpool, for an RF/Microwave Engineer (KTP Associate) working in partnership with The Academy and an industry collaborator. The RF/Microwave Engineer will design, develop, and test RF and microwave circuits and subsystems, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with project requirements. Day-to-day work will include circuit simulation, prototyping, and characterization using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers. The role involves collaborating with academic and industrial teams to translate research into practical solutions, documenting designs and results, and contributing to technical reports and publications. The KTP Associate will also engage in continuous professional development, including training, knowledge transfer, and presenting project outcomes to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in RF Design and Microwave Engineering, including practical experience with RF/microwave components and systems.
- Proficiency in Circuit Design, including schematic capture, simulation, and layout using relevant CAD tools.
- Hands-on experience using Spectrum Analyzer and Network Analyzer for RF measurements, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems, interpret data, and propose robust engineering solutions.
- Effective communication and documentation skills for working with both academic and industry partners.
- Proactive approach to learning, with an interest in knowledge transfer, innovation, and collaborative research and development.
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools, PCB design for RF circuits, or relevant industry projects is advantageous.
