We are looking for an experienced Principal Antenna Engineer to join our Engineering team in a senior technical leadership role. Working closely with the Chief RF Engineer, you will lead the design and development of innovative antenna solutions, provide technical leadership across the business and help shape our future engineering capability.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the design, development and optimisation of high-performance RF and antenna solutions.
  • Carry out electromagnetic modelling and simulation using CST Microwave Studio (or equivalent).
  • Provide technical leadership across complex engineering programmes.
  • Deputise for the Chief RF Engineer, acting as delegated design authority when required.
  • Lead customer technical discussions and support bids, proposals and product development.
  • Oversee RF testing, verification, validation and product assurance activities.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, promoting technical excellence across the team.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial and Project teams to deliver innovative customer solutions.

What we are looking for

  • Degree qualified in RF, Microwave, Electronic Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
  • Significant industrial experience in RF and antenna engineering.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, antenna design and RF measurement techniques.
  • Experience using CST Microwave Studio or equivalent EM simulation software.
  • Hands-on experience of RF testing, verification and validation.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
  • Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Desirable

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards).
  • Defence, aerospace or high-reliability engineering experience.
  • Product assurance, qualification testing and compliance knowledge.
