CEDAR PARK, Texas, August 15, 2024 – ETS-Lindgren announced its technical contributions to EMC Europe 2024, the leading international Symposium on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).  The Symposium will be held in person from September 2 to 5, 2024, in Bruges, Belgium, at the Bruges Meeting and Convention Centre.  This year’s contributions include four invited presentations; ETS-Lindgren is also a proud exhibitor.  Visit Booth #29 during the Symposium Exhibition to learn about ETS-Lindgren’s latest products and services.  The Exhibition is open Tuesday, September 3, from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm CEST; Wednesday, September 4, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm CEST; and Thursday, September 5, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm CEST.  Please check the EMC Europe 2024 website for updates to the Exhibition schedule and related news. 

 

ETS-Lindgren’s technical contributions take place on Monday, September 2, starting with the half-day workshop “Recent Advancements in Measurement Uncertainty” in Room 12, Third Floor, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm CEST (including a refreshment break).  Co-Chaired by Janet O’Neil with ETS-Lindgren and Dennis Lewis with Boeing, the workshop features five invited speakers from industry-leading companies, including National Institute of Standards and Technology, Intertek, Bundeswehr Research Institute for Protective Technologies and CBRN Protection,  Boeing, and ETS-Lindgren.  Zhong Chen, ETS-Lindgren’s Chief Engineer, will present “Estimating Uncertainty for EMC Antenna Measurements in Accordance with the Guide to Uncertainty in Measurements.”

 

In parallel with the above workshop, two sessions await eager participants.  From 9:00 am to 5:30 pm CEST (including refreshment breaks), Joel Kellogg, ETS-Lindgren’s Subject Matter Expert and Director of Global Marketing, will join other industry authorities to delve into “Intentional Electromagnetic Interference (IEMI) Risk Management for Critical Infrastructure” in Room 6, Third Floor.  This full-day workshop is co-chaired by Janet O’Neil with ETS-Lindgren; Sven Fisahn with Bundeswehr Research Institute for Protective Technologies and CBRN Protection; and Marian Lanzrath with Fraunhofer Institute for Technological Trend Analysis (INT).  Mr. Kellogg will present “Advancements in HEMP/EMP/IEMI Mitigation Strategies and Techniques.”  He will also present “Resilient Digital Substations and Deployment Strategies” on behalf of Eric Easton of CenterPoint Energy, who is unable to attend the Symposium.

Simultaneously, in Rooms 4 and 5, Third Floor, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm CEST, Ms. O’Neil and Patrick Hansmann with AVL will co-chair the workshop “Automotive EMC – Advances in Design and Test Methodologies.”  This session features Garth D’Abreu, ETS-Lindgren’s Director of Automotive Solutions; Mr. Chen; and an expert from Rohde & Schwarz.  Mr. D’Abreu will present “Taking Advantage of Equipment Capabilities to Optimize Testing:  An Overview and Discussion on the Pros and Cons of the Old Versus New ISO Reverb Methods.”  ETS-Lindgren’s collective automotive expertise will be rounded out by Mr. Chen’s presentation “Novel Chamber Designs for Full Vehicle EMC and Antenna Testing.”

For the first time at the EMC Europe Symposium, a “Young Professionals” event will be held on Tuesday, September 3, from 8:00 to 10:00 pm CEST.  This event will take place at Bowl Inn Bruges following the Welcome Reception held in the Symposium Exhibition.  “For many years, ETS-Lindgren has been a proud sponsor of the Young Professionals events during the annual IEEE EMC Society’s Symposium,” said Mr. Kellogg.  “We’re happy to see the Young Professionals activities expand to EMC Europe and are pleased to again sponsor the European edition of this popular program,” he added.
