Role Purpose<\/b><\/p>\n

The Senior Radio Optimisation Engineer will form part of Connect44\u2019s core technical delivery team, providing specialist radio optimisation expertise across a range of UK and European network programmes.<\/p>\n

The role focuses on optimising both new and existing multi-technology radio networks (2G, 3G, 4G and 5G) to achieve performance targets, enhance service quality and deliver efficient, cost-effective outcomes. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation and Self-Organising Network (SON) capabilities, and support the evolution of best-practice optimisation standards across the business.<\/p>\n

This is a remote UK-based role with occasional travel to team and project locations across the UK and Europe as required.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Develop and deliver radio optimisation strategies and plans aligned to performance and quality objectives<\/li>\n
  • Conduct proactive network investigations and performance analysis across wide geographic areas<\/li>\n
  • Manage radio capacity and highlight emerging demands or constraints<\/li>\n
  • Configure and optimise network parameters to improve coverage, capacity, throughput, latency and reliability<\/li>\n
  • Utilise advanced planning and optimisation tools to assess network behaviour and implement improvements<\/li>\n
  • Apply optimisation techniques across multi-vendor environments, including Nokia solutions<\/li>\n
  • Monitor and improve key service performance indicators and customer experience metrics<\/li>\n
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex network performance issues<\/li>\n
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network efficiency<\/li>\n
  • Explore, evaluate and deploy Self-Organising Network (SON) features and automation capabilities<\/li>\n
  • Analyse the effectiveness of automation and propose enhancements<\/li>\n
  • Lead or support drive testing activities, including analysis and actionable recommendations<\/li>\n
  • Produce mitigation plans for risks relating to coverage, capacity or performance<\/li>\n
  • Provide clear progress updates, risk assessments and technical reporting to stakeholders<\/li>\n
  • Support wider business objectives including project delivery, pre-sales\/bid support and service improvement initiatives<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, suppliers and engineering teams to drive fault resolution<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to best-practice development and knowledge sharing within the optimisation function<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience<\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Strong expertise in radio network optimisation across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G technologies<\/li>\n
    • In-depth knowledge of air interface parameters, propagation models, antenna systems, frequency and PCI planning, and capacity management<\/li>\n
    • Proficiency with industry-standard radio planning and optimisation tools<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with Nokia radio equipment and associated optimisation techniques<\/li>\n
    • Solid understanding of SON concepts and network automation approaches<\/li>\n
    • Ability to analyse large and complex datasets and translate findings into practical improvements<\/li>\n
    • Commercial awareness and understanding of performance impact<\/li>\n
    • High level of IT literacy including Microsoft Office<\/li>\n
    • Full UK driving licence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
