Whether you&#8217;re near the beginning of your career or have a wealth of experience, we have a place for you at Leonardo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Impact <\/strong>As a Senior\/Principal Microwave Engineer, you will work with the support of experts in their field, using world-class facilities to deliver designs that work to beyond 20GHz, and help form the complex electronic systems that meet our challenging future customer requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of work can range from design and technical problem solving to product development. This role may even take you across the UK or abroad for technical reviews.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Bring <\/strong><em><strong>Experience in most of the below <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_0de9efe6 _94bb4c97\">\n<li>Design techniques using some of Keysight ADS, Microwave Office, CST Microwave Studio, Ansoft HFSS or Siemens EDA Mentor.<\/li>\n<li>Physical layouts of RF and Microwave circuits<\/li>\n<li>Derivation of and reporting against design requirements<\/li>\n<li>A structured approach to electronic design<\/li>\n<li>RF test methods and equipment including use of Network Analysers, Spectrum Analysers and RF Sources<\/li>\n<li>Ability to de-bug failing hardware or test equipment<\/li>\n<li>Interfacing with customers, sub-contractors or in-company stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Assisting early careers engineers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"_513e293b bf382b8c _4b9430bd _5f870091 _6a26ae83 _8ec911f8 _518d7a49 _8a652b91 _9ea6f1c0\"><span class=\"_01ba7d4f _89ffbac9\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\"><em><strong>It would be nice if you had <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_0de9efe6 _94bb4c97\">\n<li>Experience within the defence industry<\/li>\n<li>You might have an HNC\/HND or Undergraduate Degree (Electronic Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics) or you may just have lots of skills and experience gained through your hard work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"_513e293b bf382b8c _4b9430bd _5f870091 _6a26ae83 _8ec911f8 _518d7a49 _8a652b91 _9ea6f1c0\"><span class=\"_01ba7d4f _89ffbac9\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\"><strong>Experience In Some Of <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_0de9efe6 _94bb4c97\">\n<li>RF Synthesisers, using DDS or PLL technologies,<\/li>\n<li>RF conditioning chains, e.g. Frequency Converters<\/li>\n<li>Design of passive microwave structures such as Filters<\/li>\n<li>Design of High Power Amplifiers<\/li>\n<li>Design of High Power Switches<\/li>\n<li>Low phase noise design and measurement<\/li>\n<li>RF Chain Analysis<\/li>\n<li>RF PCB Design<\/li>\n<li>MMIC Design<\/li>\n<li>Circuits operating over multi octave bandwidths<\/li>\n<li>Model driven engineering using Matlab and Simulink<\/li>\n<li>Automating test equipment using Labview<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"_513e293b bf382b8c _4b9430bd _5f870091 _6a26ae83 _8ec911f8 _518d7a49 _8a652b91 _9ea6f1c0\"><span class=\"_01ba7d4f _89ffbac9\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\"><strong>Security Clearance <\/strong>This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government\u2019s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
