With over 10,300 colleagues globally and around 1000 in the UK &amp; Ireland we are growing significantly and seeking out the very best talent to join the SYSTRA signature team and be part of leading the way in infrastructure design.<\/p>\n<p>Context<\/p>\n<p>We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer\/EMC Specialist, with particular specialism in complex electromagnetic environments of railway lineside infrastructure and high-speed tunnels, to join our engineering team. This position within our MEP engineering team will suit a committed and ambitious engineer who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in a dynamic high-performance team.<\/p>\n<p>The Principal Electrical Engineer\/EMC Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all lineside and tunnel systems (including power, signalling, communications, mechanical and electrical (M&amp;E) assets) are designed, installed and tested to meet the stringent EMC requirements of a high-speed railway. Your expertise will be vital in preventing electromagnetic interference (EMI) between safety-critical systems, ensuring the railway operates safely and reliably.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_0b52f099 b6ad282a\">\n<li>This role requires considerable professional experience and expertise in order to manage complex or non-standard design solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Have a good understanding of CSM\/CDM regulations and requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and presentation skills for external presentations to clients.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining good relationships with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining good relationships with engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a \u201cOne Team\u201d ethos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c8518d59 _3e4bb8bc _5d9004b6 _2f4a5644 _9f0f7e93 _1f0b9e8e cc1e0ca4 _4d39f135 ec36e444 _673b7fe7 a095def4\"><span class=\"c32298a2 _764471c9\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\">Missions\/Main Duties<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties <\/strong>The Principal Electrical Engineer\/EMC Specialist\u2019s main duties will be to manage the complex EMC interfaces for a high-speed rail environment and to be responsible for:<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_0b52f099 b6ad282a\">\n<li>Ensuring projects are completed to meet all client\u2019s requirements and applicable standards and to an agreed budget and programme.<\/li>\n<li>Plan the project works and provide forward view resource forecasting to enable the team leader to allocate suitable resource to the projects.<\/li>\n<li>Identify changes to the projects client requirements and raise the changes with the SYSTRA Project Management Team.<\/li>\n<li>Provide monthly cost to complete forecasts to the SYSTRA Project Management Team.<\/li>\n<li>Act as the technical lead for all EMC matters related to lineside and tunnel systems.<\/li>\n<li>Develop, maintain and manage EMC Management Plans for specific assets, focusing on the unique challenges of confined tunnel spaces and extensive lineside routes.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively identify and manage complex EMC interfaces between railway systems.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and contribute to EMC-related hazard identification (HAZID) and risk assessments.
