These role represents a fantastic and rare opportunity to play a leading role in the design and development on a range of client defence marine product. The project is in the early phases of the lifecycle and you will be supporting from the project from the concept design phase though to delivery and installation testing.<\/p>\n<p>We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer\/EMC Specialist, with particular specialism in complex electromagnetic environments of RADAR systems and integration of RADAR onto a maritime platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_13613d6a da470b38\">\n<li>You&#8217;ll be responsible for a range of activities within the Systems Lifecycle including :-\n<ul class=\"_13613d6a da470b38\">\n<li>Technical Leadership and Task Management<\/li>\n<li>Design Evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Requirements Management<\/li>\n<li>Concept Design and Simulation<\/li>\n<li>Statement of Work Generation and Supplier Liaison<\/li>\n<li>Verification planning and management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Principal Electrical Engineer\/EMC Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all systems (including power, digital processing, communications, mechanical and electrical (M&amp;E) assets) are designed, installed and tested to meet the stringent EMC requirements of an operational maritme defence platform. Your expertise will be vital in preventing electromagnetic interference (EMI) between safety-critical systems, ensuring once itegrated the system operates safely and reliably.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring projects are completed to meet all client\u2019s requirements and applicable standards and to an agreed budget and programme.<\/li>\n<li>Act as the technical lead for all EMC matters<\/li>\n<li>Develop, maintain and manage EMC Management Plans<\/li>\n<li>Proactively identify and manage complex EMC interfaces between systems.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and contribute to EMC-related hazard identification (HAZID) and risk assessments. Ensure all EMC risks are captured in the project Hazard Log and managed to an ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) level.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate and lead the resolution of any EMC issues, failures or non-conformances identified during construction, testing, or commissioning.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise directly with design and build team, system suppliers, internal and external bodies to ensure a unified and compliant approach to EMC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"d5431a5b _1ab16eed c21f445a cacb1a09 a6e178b5 a926cb09 _034443af a163d908 d6b6ba7f _721f82fb e150dd68\"><span class=\"aa4e9d2e _620312c3\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\"><strong>Qualifications <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_13613d6a da470b38\">\n<li>A HNC \/ HND \/ FD or Bachelor&#8217;s degree in an engineering subject<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"d5431a5b _1ab16eed c21f445a cacb1a09 a6e178b5 a926cb09 _034443af a163d908 d6b6ba7f _721f82fb e150dd68\"><span class=\"aa4e9d2e _620312c3\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\"><strong>Essential Skills <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_13613d6a da470b38\">\n<li>Engineering Management<\/li>\n<li>Project Management understanding (Critical path control, Risk understanding)<\/li>\n<li>Worked as an engineer on either Hardware, Software or Systems engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Full knowledge of &#8216;V&#8217; lifecycle<\/li>\n<li>Leadership &amp; Management<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills at all levels<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder Management<\/li>\n<li>Broad understanding of the Maritime Electronic Warfare and Combat Systems domain<\/li>\n<li>Experience with the design and development of Electronics &amp; Motors, Power Electronics, Digital Electronics<\/li>\n<li>Delivery of electronic systems across the SE life cycle, including an understanding of the CADMID life cycle and its alignment with systems\/product life cycles;<\/li>\n<li>Requirements Engineering using DOORS<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the process of testing and integrating electronic and digital systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"d5431a5b _1ab16eed c21f445a cacb1a09 a6e178b5 a926cb09 _034443af a163d908 d6b6ba7f _721f82fb e150dd68\"><span class=\"aa4e9d2e _620312c3\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\"><strong>Desired Skills <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_13613d6a da470b38\">\n<li>Engineering\/technical management, preferably in a position responsible for the delivery of equipment\/system programmes for a MoD customer;<\/li>\n<li>Able to understand the effect of system design and change on the cost of the development;<\/li>\n<li>Be a good communicator, both written and oral, and able to liaise at all levels with customers\/stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Capable of undertaking and documenting detailed development activities including proof of concept designs;<\/li>\n<li>Radar Systems<\/li>\n<li>Maritime Paltform<\/li>\n<li>Defence background.<\/li>\n<li>MOD experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"d5431a5b _1ab16eed c21f445a cacb1a09 a6e178b5 a926cb09 _034443af a163d908 d6b6ba7f _721f82fb e150dd68\"><span class=\"aa4e9d2e _620312c3\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-testid=\"expandable-text-box\"><strong>Experience <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_13613d6a da470b38\">\n<li>Someone for whom collaboration and working in partnership comes naturally.
