As a Senior or Principal Microwave Engineer, you\u2019ll help design and deliver the microwave subsystems that enable these platforms to detect, respond and survive. Based primarily at our <strong>Luton or Bristol<\/strong> sites, this role offers hybrid working, with on\u2011site time flexing to meet programme and test requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you will do as a Principal Microwave Engineer working on EW programmes:<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_7e5647d6 a3bcf266 f6555255\">\n<li>Design and develop microwave and RF circuits operating to and beyond 20\u202fGHz, supporting advanced EW self\u2011protection systems.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of complex RF subsystems, from early concept and requirements derivation through detailed design, integration and test.<\/li>\n<li>Perform microwave simulation, modelling and optimisation using industry\u2011standard EM and circuit tools.<\/li>\n<li>Translate system\u2011level and RF requirements into robust, manufacturable microwave designs.<\/li>\n<li>Support hands\u2011on RF test, measurement and debug using world\u2011class laboratory facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Solve technically challenging problems across the RF chain, balancing performance, power, reliability and manufacturability.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to and be supported by an Integrated Project Team.<\/li>\n<li>Propose and report on work packages (cost, schedule and technical progress).<\/li>\n<li>Engage in design reviews and technical discussions with internal stakeholders, partners and customers.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical leadership and mentoring to early\u2011career and developing engineers<\/li>\n<li>Influence design approaches, tools and best operating with a high degree of technical autonomy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Experience<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"_7e5647d6 a3bcf266 f6555255\">\n<li>Proven experience designing RF \/ microwave circuitry or subsystems in complex electronic systems.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of microwave theory, high\u2011frequency effects and practical implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Experience using one or more of:\n<ul class=\"_7e5647d6 a3bcf266 f6555255\">\n<li>Keysight ADS<\/li>\n<li>Microwave Office<\/li>\n<li>CST Microwave Studio<\/li>\n<li>Ansys HFSS<\/li>\n<li>Siemens EDA \/ Mentor tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Practical experience with RF and microwave layout techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive hands\u2011on experience with RF test equipment, such as network analysers, spectrum analysers and RF sources.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to debug failing hardware or test setups.<\/li>\n<li>Analysing results and reporting against derived design requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers or internal stakeholders on technical matters.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working within a structured electronic design lifecycle under configuration control.<\/li>\n<li>Teamworking, including effective communication skills, progress reporting and planning of one\u2019s activities in pursuit of the team\u2019s
