Do you want to make a difference?<\/p>\n<p>You could be one of our 54k+ colleagues in over 30 countries working on inspiring projects in the most innovative companies.<\/p>\n<p>Join us and start building tomorrow\u2019s world today!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ALTEN UK is seeking a <strong>Controls Electronics Engineer<\/strong> with expertise in <strong>power electronics, mixed-signal design, and EMI\/EMC compliance<\/strong> to join our team supporting leading Defence &amp; Aerospace clients in Derby.<\/p>\n<p>This is a high-impact role contributing to the design of mission-critical hardware operating in harsh environments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you\u2019ll be doing:<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing <strong>analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits<\/strong>, with a focus on <strong>low noise<\/strong>, <strong>radiation tolerance<\/strong>, and <strong>temperature extremes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Developing <strong>DC-DC converters<\/strong>, <strong>motor drives<\/strong>, and <strong>power distribution units<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing <strong>EMI\/EMC mitigation strategies<\/strong> across PCB and system level, aligned with <strong>DO-160 and MIL-STD-461G<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Leading <strong>pre-compliance and compliance testing<\/strong>, including radiated\/conducted emissions &amp; susceptibility.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting system-level <strong>grounding, shielding, filtering<\/strong>, and <strong>bonding<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Performing <strong>root cause analysis<\/strong> and corrective action on test failures.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams including <strong>hardware, PCB layout, systems, and mechanical<\/strong> engineers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What we\u2019re looking for:<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong background in <strong>controls or power electronics<\/strong> engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience with <strong>oscilloscopes, logic\/spectrum analyzers<\/strong>, and electronics testing (thermal\/ambient).<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with <strong>SPICE<\/strong>, <strong>Altium<\/strong>, <strong>LTspice<\/strong>, <strong>MATLAB\/Simulink<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of <strong>DO-254<\/strong>, <strong>DO-160<\/strong>, and aerospace-grade PCB design standards.<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing for <strong>redundancy, fault tolerance, and reliability (FMEA)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Confident working in a <strong>formally documented<\/strong> environment (requirements traceability, config\/change control).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why join us?<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We foster a community of dually talented individuals who are both entrepreneurs and technology specialists.
