The scope includes most test requirements and methods called up by MIL-STD 461\/2, allowing defence agencies, contractors and defence suppliers to prove compliance with the stringent EMC limits imposed on defence equipment and systems.<\/p>\n<p>MIL-STD-461 prior version F (published in 1999) was split into two coordinated documents MIL-STD-461 (limits) and MIL-STD-462 (test methods). After MIL-STD 461F both limits and methods were combined into a single standard. These documents used by the Army, Air force and Navy as a baseline to standardize EMC design and test requirements for equipment and systems. They provide a standardized set of interference control and test requirements which form a common basis for assessing the EMC characteristics.
