Applus+ IDIADA is pleased to inform our clients and the automotive industry about the recent entry into force of series 07 of amendments to the United Nations Regulation UN R10, concerning electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of vehicles.<\/p><\/div>

Implementation Date<\/strong><\/h2>

The new series 07 of amendments to UN R10 Regulation is officially\u00a0applicable from June 12, 2025<\/strong>. As an accredited Technical Service in the field of electromagnetic compatibility, Applus+ IDIADA is already prepared to help manufacturers certify their vehicles and components with these new requirements.<\/p>

Main Updates in Series 07<\/strong><\/h2>

The series 07 of amendments introduces important updates compared to the previous version, including:<\/p>

New Technical Definitions<\/strong><\/p>

  • Automated Driving System (ADS) and Dynamic Driving Task (DDT)<\/li>
  • Residential and non-residential environments<\/li>
  • Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS)<\/li>
  • Accident Emergency Call Systems (AECS)<\/li><\/ul>

    Requirements for ADS<\/strong>\u00a0ensuring that vehicles remain in a safe mode during electromagnetic immunity tests.<\/p>

    Differentiation between residential and non-residential environments<\/strong>. The new amendment establishes specific limits for conducted radio frequency emissions according to the environment type, providing greater flexibility to heavy vehicles and buses that operate primarily in non-residential environments.<\/p>

    Updated failure criteria<\/strong>\u00a0for different vehicle systems and functions, including specific requirements for AECS and AVAS systems.<\/p>

    Enhanced test procedures<\/strong>\u00a0for various charging modes of electric and hybrid vehicles<\/p>

    Transitional Provisions<\/strong><\/h2>

    The transitional provisions include an extensive adaptation period:<\/p>

    • From September 1, 2029, Contracting Parties may refuse approvals according to previous series issued after that date<\/li>
    • Approvals according to series 06 issued before September 1, 2029, will continue to be accepted<\/li>
    • Contracting Parties will continue to accept series 06 approvals for vehicles, systems, or components not affected by changes in series 07<\/li><\/ul>

      Implications for Manufacturers<\/strong><\/h2>

      Vehicle and component manufacturers will need to adapt their homologation processes to comply with these new requirements. The transitional period of more than four years provides sufficient time to plan and implement necessary changes.<\/p>
