CSA Group has announced the opening of a new automotive electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing facility in Yongin, South Korea. Building on the EMC laboratory opened in 2024, the expansion adds automotive testing capabilities in the region while expanding CSA Group’s global EMC services.
The new facility adds dedicated automotive testing infrastructure, including:
– 3 EMC Chambers / 3 Shield Rooms / 1 Reverberation Chamber: The laboratory is equipped to handle EMC testing across a broad range of automotive components.
– Targeted Automotive Component Testing: The facility is designed to test high-voltage components for electric vehicles (EVs), including ICCU, LDC, OBC, BMS, and more, as well as low-voltage automotive electrical components such as clusters, motors, ECUs, TCUs, ACUs, AVN systems, switches, headlamps, DRLs, rear lamps, sensors, and others.
“The automotive industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace, with increasing electrification and complexity demanding rigorous testing solutions,” said Frances Hung, Senior Vice President of CSA Group. “Building on existing footprint in Yongin, this new automotive EMC facility allows us to provide our customers in Korea and across Asia with specialized, cutting-edge services tailored to their unique needs.”
CSA Group opened its Yongin EMC facility in 2024 with a focus on commercial products and medical devices, including a medical robotics testing lab. The automotive-dedicated expansion reflects increasing testing requirements from automotive manufacturers in the region.
