LONDON, 7 July – Element Materials Technology (“Element”), a global leader in testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services for highly regulated industries, today announced expanded wireless testing capabilities and increased capacity in North America following its recent acquisition of CETECOM Inc (press release here). The additions strengthen Element’s position as a single-source partner for manufacturers seeking to simplify wireless device compliance, and to accelerate Regulatory (FCC, ISED, CE), Industry (PTCRB, GCF, CTIA, Wi-Fi Alliance, WPC), and US Carrier approvals in order to bring connected wireless products to market faster.
The expanded offering includes highly specialized capabilities in CTIA Over-the-Air (OTA) antenna performance testing including passive antenna measurements, advanced 5G location performance (5G NR AGNSS), Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) testing, and support for emerging 5G technologies such as RedCap and eRedCap.
In addition, Element has expanded its Wi-Fi interoperability and Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) capabilities and is now the only Wi-Fi Alliance Authorized Test Laboratory in North America accredited to conduct integrated WPA3-R2 security testing across Wi‑Fi 4 through Wi‑Fi 7 – giving customers a streamlined, single provider route to certification and regulatory approval.
Element has also added Qi certification capability in the Americas, making it the only Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) Approved Test Laboratory in North America. This now enables manufacturers of wireless charging products to complete both testing and certification under one roof, reducing shipping complexity, shortening timelines, lowering supply chain risk and helping products reach market faster.
Together with broader wireless coexistence capacity, these additions further enhance Element’s ability to support customers across the full wireless compliance journey, spanning Regulatory (FCC, ISED, CE), Industry (PTCRB, GCF, CTIA, Wi-Fi Alliance, WPC), and US Carrier approvals.
RJ Ortanez, Vice President Cellular, Connected Technologies & Mobility for Element, said: “With the acquisition of CETECOM Inc., we have significantly expanded our wireless testing capabilities and now offer one of the largest wireless and cellular device testing footprints in North America. That scale, combined with our technical depth, enables us to help customers around the world navigate growing complexity, meet evolving certification requirements and bring products to market faster and with greater confidence.”
