Job Summary:

The EMC Simulation Engineer will play a pivotal role in the propulsion systems product

engineering team by focusing on the development and implementation of virtual

simulation models, methods, and processes to avoid electromagnetic compatibility

(EMC) problems early in the product development cycle. This role emphasizes the

development of EMC CAE methods and processes to ensure optimal performance and

compliance with EMC standards throughout the design and development phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Simulation and Analysis:

• Develop and implement advanced EMC simulation models using

industry-standard software tools.

• Perform comprehensive EMC simulations to identify potential issues

early in the product development cycle.

• Analyse simulation results to provide actionable insights and

recommendations for design improvements.

• Proactive Design Integration:

• Collaborate closely with design engineers to integrate EMC

considerations into the initial design stages.

• Develop and refine simulation methods and processes to predict and

mitigate EMC issues before physical prototypes are created.

• Provide technical guidance on EMC best practices and design strategies

to ensure compliance with standards.

• Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

• Stay updated with the latest EMC technologies, tools, and methodologies

to enhance simulation accuracy and efficiency.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine EMC

simulation processes and tools.

• Innovate new approaches to EMC simulation that can be integrated into

the product development workflow.

• Testing and Validation:

• Support EMC testing activities by validating simulation results through

experimental testing and measurements.

• Ensure that simulation models accurately predict real-world EMC

performance.

• Assist in the development of EMC test plans and procedures based on

simulation findings.

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of simulation

results, methodologies, and findings.

• Maintain records of EMC design changes and their impact on system

performance.

• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and

management effectively and contribute to the CAE community body of

knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Education:

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.

• Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EMC simulation and analysis,

preferably in propulsion systems or automotive industry.

• Expert in using EMC simulation software, specifically CST.

• Skills:

• Strong understanding of EMC principles and standards (e.g., CISPR, IEC,

ISO).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Demonstrably a team player with a desire to collaborate with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Dassault System CST Microwave Studio, Design Studio, PCB

Studio.

• Experience with propulsion system design and development.

• Familiarity with automotive EMC testing procedures and equipment.

• Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity analysis.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily office and occasionally laboratory environments.
